What are some non traditional wedding ceremony music?

traditional music
I have several friends getting married around the time I am so I want to do something a little different music wise at the ceremony. We are both young and laid back people. What are some suggestions for music for the seating of the parents, the bridesmaids walking down the aisle, my father and I and after the ceremony when we are walking out? I want songs that have a great message.

There are lots of cute oldies if you like that kind of music.
The Beatles: I wanna hold you hand, All my Lovin, All you need is love, She loves Me, just to name a few.

    My girl is always cute

Going to the Chapel by The Shirelles

I played “Tattoo” by Rancid at my reception, its cute in a punk rock way

    Hope this helps

get instrumental versions of rock songs. look on ebay or amazon for “string quartet tribute” or “rock symphony” or “rock orchestra” and you will find tons of stuff.

i walked down to “the final countdown” orchestral by Europe and it was awesome.

just don’t feel confined to traditional or classical music. personalize it for the two of you!

My husband and I walked out to “signed, sealed delivered”. Everyone though it was cute. Looking back it would have made more sense if we had added a step to the ceremony where we and the pastor signed our marriage lisense in front of everyone, then the signed, sealed, delivered would have been even better but I just got a compliment on it last week and our wedding was almost two years ago.

Seating of the Parents: Louis Armstrong “What a Wonderful World”

Bridesmaids Walking in: Bob Marley “One Love” or Yael Naim “New Soul” (it’s the song from the new MacBook Air commercial). It’s pretty catching and would be fun to for your BMs to walk down the aisle to.

Bride/Father Walking down the Aisle: “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” by Israel Kamakawiwo’ole (it’s the upbeat version of the song with the ukelele).

Walking Out of the Ceremony: Jack Johnson “Better Together”

Good luck:) I like the non-traditional music. It makes it way more personal than the typical songs that every other bride uses.

Oh… and another great song is Michael Buble “You and I” it would be nice to walk down the aisle too… I just thought of it.

I’m getting married in June but so far this is what we have.

I havent decided what the wedding party will walk to yet, probably something from the 80’s. Not sure though.

Seating, Reception will just be music we like (classic rock, oldies, some newer rock and ska maybe)

I am walking down the aisle to “Kashmir” from Led Zeppelin, the actual song, not the instrumental. I’m not going to take anything away from it!

My fiance and I will leave to “You’re My Best Friend” from Queen.

I am deciding between “You are so Beautiful to me” from Joe Cocker or “She” from Elvis Costello for me and my dad.

Me and my fiance will definitely dance to “Unchained Melody” from Righteous Brothers becaise I LOVE that song, but we may switch it up and break in with something else. I thought about “Sexy Thing” from Hot Chocolate lol

We are both young and we want to have fun on our wedding day, sure its sentimental but I want to be happy and not be crying all the time.

Hope this gives you some good ideas!

    First of all, CONGRATS!

I’m planning my wedding as well, and today, I found the perfect song for walking down the aisle. It’s ironically called, “The Wedding Song (There Is Love)” by Peter, Paul, and Mary.

Once I read the lyrics out loud to my sis, it made me choke up because he sings about love and what it’s really all about, and why it even exists.

I know the song sounds really old-school, and I hardly heard of them since I’m only 25, but the message is soooo awe-some!

    Here are the lyrics:

He is now to be among you at the calling of your hearts.
Rest assured this troubador is acting on His part.
The union of your spirits here has caused Him to remain,
for whenever two or more of you are gathered in His name,
There is love. There is love.

Oh, a man shall leave his mother, and a woman leave her home.
They will travel on to where the two will be as one.
As it was in the beginning, is now until the end,
woman draws her life from man
and gives it back again and there is love.
    Oh, there’s love.

Well then what’s to be the reason for becoming man and wife?
Is it love that brings you here or love that brings you life?
For if loving is the answer then who’s the giving for?
Do you believe in something that you’ve never seen before?
Oh, there’s love. There is love.

He is now to be among you at the calling of your hearts.
Rest assured this troubador is acting on His part.
The union of your spirits here has caused Him to remain
for whenever two or more of you are gathered in His name
there is love. Oh, there is love.

I hope this has been helpful. No matter what, your wedding will be enchanting! :D

You could try some original wedding music. Your local wedding entertainers may compose their own music for weddings, which means you could have live music that is totally different, thereby making your wedding more unique.
